Our mission
My Pet Biome was founded to create a new standard in preventive healthcare for dogs, where the gut microbiome takes center stage. In close collaboration with veterinarians, we want to better understand dog health with scientifically based microbiome diagnostics, identify potential disruptions early on and further strengthen preventive healthcare.

We believe in the One Health vision, in which the health of humans, animals and the environment is inextricably linked. That is why every microbiome test contributes — through anonymised data — to building further scientific knowledge about the gut microbiome. Together with veterinarians and dog owners, we build the knowledge of tomorrow and a healthier future for dog, human and environment.
Our story
How My Pet Biome started
After years of clinical experience, scientific research and a constant curiosity about the role of the gut microbiome, our founders combined their knowledge, experience and vision. Thanks to the latest sequencing technology, My Pet Biome was born: a Belgian initiative that wants to make preventive healthcare more accessible and give the gut microbiome a central place in the health of dogs.

My Pet Biome was developed by a Belgian team of veterinarians, microbiologists and bioinformaticians. We combine practical experience with scientific expertise, continue to critically test existing insights and constantly look for new ways to better understand dog health. Our scientific work is supported and critically reviewed by an independent advisory board of academic veterinarians.
